Forgetting books after reading many books is a standard issue to everyone. It's sad yet but true. It's hilarious for a reader when he read lots of books and forget most of them. Some books become a bit fuzzy, as soon as the covers have been closed. However, others remain a long time in our head once the final chapter is finished. This one's characters often assault the reader, even talk to him in the quiet moments when he goes to bed and just before the dream arrives.

For example, Truman Capote's "Cold Blooded" book is a detective story about the murder of a family during the robbery of his Kansas home. It is not only the crime story that makes the novel so compelling, but also the way Capote framed the two authors - while one aligned with the reader's expectations of a cold-blooded murderer, the other was courteous and gentle, Defying our prejudices and provoking us an uncomfortable sympathy. In the pages, the unimaginable imagines itself vividly, and the reader is introduced to the humanity in the middle of the horror.

It is not just the real crime-a far more plausible terror than any paranormal fact of fiction-which can remain in the reader's mind. A fictional crime novel that is equally difficult to shake off of the head is John Fowles's "The Collector." In the story, a single butterfly collector kidnaps a woman and holds her captive in a basement underneath her house - as another element that would have "collected." Decades later, it was hard not to remember Fowles' book when news came out of the real world where girls from all over the world had been imprisoned inside houses or cellars, many like the hold in The Collector. Because reality surpasses fiction.

Likewise, it's not hard for the reader to recognize the actual crimes that might have inspired "We have to talk about Kevin." Not only is a crime so memorable, but also Lionel Shriver's portrayal of a struggling mother - ill-equipped in her adjustment to motherhood and with disastrous consequences. In "Lord of the Flies," William Golding also introduced the concept of good and evil in his description of the behavior of the boys on a desert island. Children face challenging conditions and respond with violence, intimidation, and significant power struggles. While they began as children that readers could recognize, by the end of the novel their behavior had degenerated to the point of becoming animalistic.

That is possibly one of the reasons why these books are so chilling - they do not sit snugly in the realm of fantasy - situations and characters are recognizable as we see in the news. And while newsletters can make the viewer shake his head in bewilderment, books take readers further, exposing the experience of both captor and captive. Breakthrough Prize Ceremony 2017: Scientists Changing the World. Breakthrough Prize celebrates achievements in science with a star-studded ceremony. At the fifth annual Breakthrough Prize ceremony last night, 14 scientists received a total of $25 million in science prizes for fundamental contributions to human knowledge.

This year’s winners include five molecular biologists who won $3 million each for work in genetics and cell biology, one mathematician, a trio of string theorists who split one $3 million physics prize, and another 1,015 physicists working on the LIGO gravitational wave detector split a special $3 million physics prize. In addition, there were six smaller “New Horizons” prizes totaling $600,000 for 10 “early career” researchers, and a pair of high school students won $400,000 apiece for making science videos.
The Breakthrough Prize was founded in 2012 and is financed by Silicon Valley billionaires such as Milner, Google’s Sergey Brin and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg.

One of the prizes was already announced earlier this year. The physicists behind the LIGO experiment, which revealed the first detection of Einstein’s long-sought gravitational waves in February, will share the $3 million Breakthrough Prize in fundamental physics. Of that, $1 million will be split between three of LIGO’s founders: Ronald Drever and Kip Thorne at the California Institute of Technology, and Rainer Weiss at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The other $2 million will be equally split between 1012 contributors to the experiment.

Another $3 million prize in fundamental physics will be split between three physicists. Joseph Polchinski at the University of California, Santa Barbara, was recognised for his theories of what happens at the event horizons of black holes, and Andrew Strominger and Cumrun Vafa at Harvard University were honoured for contributions to quantum gravity and string theory.

In addition to the big $3 million prizes, there were six $100,000 New Horizons prizes – half in physics and half in mathematics. The young physics winners are: Asimina Arvanitaki of the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Ontario, Canada; Peter Graham of Stanford and Surjeet Rajendran of the University of California, Berkeley, who split one prize; Simone Giombi of Princeton and Xi Yin of Harvard split another prize; and Frans Pretorius of Princeton.

In mathematics, the New Horizons winners were Mohammed Abouzaid of Columbia University; Hugo Duminil-Copin of the University of Geneva; and Benjamin Elias of the University of Oregon and Geordie Williamson of Kyoto University.

“If a few kids in a high school will get inspired by those incredible people, I think this effort is worth pursuing,” he says. “I think it’s really about the priorities of society: where we should put more resources in, and where the smartest people should go. If we can reach even half the audience of the Super Bowl globally, that would be amazing. But that’s a high bar.”

The richest awards in science were handed out Sunday night when the Breakthrough Prize organization presented a total of $21.9 million to physicists, mathematicians, life scientists and one talented high school student. The awards take the form of seven $3 million awards, one of which was split among roughly 1,300 physicists; $500,000 split among eight early-career researchers; and $400,000 to a high school student for creating a video communicating a scientific concept.

So equating both the statements I hereby disprove the statement made in the question you can dream of happiness but if you want to make it real or not it is up-to you.

The reason first love stories are so compelling to read is because there is something so powerful about a young love experience. Is it because it happens when our hearts are still innocent and pure — before that first inevitable heartbreak? Or is it because once that huge flame dies out, a few warm embers remain to keep the memory aglow?

It’s true, too, that we tend to get even more sentimental as we age, especially about memories of long ago. An unfinished love keeps some allure for many years.

There are some people in each and everyone's life who just CANNOT be forgotten, no matter what. Such people include ones parents, siblings, cousins, basically their immediate kith and kin.

We control our happiness and emotion. If we make our happiness and emotion contingent on what someone else does or does not do, we are the one who is controlling that. Emotions enable us to react to situations – for example, anger or fear will set your heart racing, and feeling happy will make you smile. Being able to control your emotions is key to your happiness as well as your relationships.

When we're born, we're more connected to our true selves than we'll probably ever be again in our physical lives, providing we never learn to live consciously. When you watch children play, you'll notice that they're generally full of joy and enthusiasm for life. This is our natural state. This is how we planned to live our entire lives when we came in. At the top end of the spectrum, you feel happiness, freedom and like you have control over your circumstances. You feel passionate, enthusiastic and eager to start each day. You are thinking positive, empowered thoughts like "I can do that", "Everything is perfect just the way it is" and "I'm so grateful for everything I have and the people in my life." You're not faking it, you actually believe these statements and are truly appreciative of your amazing life. For some people this scenario might seem completely out of reach, but I assure you, we can ALL get there.

At the other end of the spectrum you're feeling completely powerless, like you have no control over your life or circumstances at all, like everything just happens TO you, is done TO you. You're depressed, vulnerable, you feel unworthy and afraid. This is where self-loathing and fear live. It truly doesn't get any worse than this.

If You Feel Powerless

So, if you're in the lower end of the spectrum, how can you move from that scenario to the joyful one? Well, you can't. Not all at once, anyway. You have to work your way up, step by step. When you're feeling afraid and alone, like nothing good can ever come to you again, you can't even imagine a bright shiny world where all is well. You can't conceive of happiness from where you are.
But, you can conceive of anger. When you're depressed, when you're feeling powerless, you're turning your negative thoughts towards yourself. This produces the worst possible feeling. Why? Because there is no bigger lie than that you are not worthy, that you are somehow broken, that you are not perfect and your True Self, who you really are, knows it. ]

You can't really know others' perfection until you know your own. You can't truly love anyone until you love yourself. You can't really help anyone else feel whole, until you know what it feels like to be complete. It all starts with you. And so, there is no worse feeling for us than when we deny who we really are and think of ourselves with hatred, when we completely deny our own power. 
You're not in pain because you're being punished for having these thoughts. On the contrary. Your inner being is screaming at you to turn around, that you ARE worthy, that you ARE perfect, and wants nothing more than for you to realize it. The horrible feelings and the very degree to which you're experiencing them is a direct result of how incorrect you are in your thinking.

But to ask you to simply do a 180, to just start thinking the opposite ("I love myself" instead of "I hate myself") is a bit much to ask. It's much easier to work your way around bit by bit. So, when you are in a state of hating yourself, it's actually a relief to turn that anger or hatred onto another person. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating acting on that feeling. In fact, doing so would send you right back down the scale where you started. But you are absolutely allowed to feel it. Give yourself permission to be angry with someone, to blame someone, to just hate the world. It might still not feel good, but it will feel better. Stay there for a little while and feel the relief of it. You might cry, you might need to scream into a pillow or take a walk around the block. Let off steam. You're getting rid of that lower vibration, that "negative" energy.

If You Feel Angry

Once you feel secure in your anger, once you no longer feel the temptation to turn your negative view towards yourself, you can move up to the next rung. At this point, you can move into frustration, doubt, worry, or pessimism. You turn your attention from blaming someone else to accepting that bad things happen sometimes. It's not that ALL people are bastards, but bastards do exist. It's not that ONLY bad stuff happens, but bad stuff does happen. You soften your language a bit. ALWAYS becomes SOMETIMES. EVERYONE becomes SOME PEOPLE. HATE becomes DISLIKE. It's ok to be a bit negative here. Those of us who study this stuff, who consider ourselves spiritual, often forget that even these "negative" emotions have their place. We think we ought to know better and should always be at a high vibration. We see a negative emotion as some kind of failure. But negative emotions are simply there to guide us. If you're frustrated, it makes no sense to deny it or feel guilty about it. Accept it, allow it, and work your way on up the emotional scale. And stop beating up on yourself. That just makes you slide back down.

If You're Frustrated

Once you're solidly entrenched in frustration, the next step is neutral territory: boredom. At this point, you're not really feeling good or bad. You're just sort of ok. You don't really have to spend a lot of time here. In fact, this interval may be so short, it might seem like you're skipping the step altogether.

If You're Bored

The next step on the scale will take you into optimism and positive expectation. Reach for hopeful thoughts. Good things DO happen, and there ARE good people in the world. In fact, a lot more things go right every day than go wrong. You're switching your attention from the negative to the positive now. Instead of diminishing the things that made you feel bad, you're beginning to focus on those things that make you feel good. Little by little, you'll find more and more things to feel good about. At this point, you can conceive of looking for positive news, nice people, puppies and sunshine. Cynicism falls away and makes room for the idea that it isn't naive to see the beauty in the world, and once you start looking for it, you see that beauty everywhere.

If You're Feeling Hopeful

Once you've found this place of hopefulness, it really isn't hard to move up to absolute joy and happiness. You've built so much momentum and you're so close to your true self, to who you really are, that you can hear the call loud and clear. This is the place of appreciation, of being grateful. This is where you play, where you have fun, where circumstances no longer dictate how you feel. You can have fun anywhere. You can see beauty wherever you go. You feel incredibly good all the time. This is how you're supposed to feel. THIS IS WHO YOU REALLY ARE.

Remember that it doesn't really matter where you start. There's no shame in being angry or even depressed. Figure out where you are on the scale and you can begin to deliberately work your way up. You might spend days or weeks on each level, or just a few minutes. Once you begin shifting energy, it will become easier and easier. It's possible for someone who has used this process several times to work their way up the entire scale in about 20 minutes. I only tell you this so that you understand the incredible leverage available to you when you begin to work with energy, not to give you a measuring stick to judge yourself against (i.e. "Why is it taking me longer than 20 minutes? There's obviously something wrong with me.") So please don't take it that way.

Take it slow at first, feel your way through it. The most important thing in this process is that you realize that you do have the ability to make yourself feel better. Once you understand this, once you fully realize just how powerful you are, you can never go back to where you were. You can never feel truly powerless again. Even if you feel a bit depressed, even if you have a "negative" reaction to an event, it won't last long. You'll quickly remember that you don't have to wait for anything to change. You have the power to do something about the way you feel any time you like.

Scientists are finding that, after all, love really is down to a chemical addiction between people. The neurobiology of how the warmest emotion expands your sense of self and blurs the boundaries by you and not-you.

I believe doing work you love will change the world.
But a lot of people still spend their lives filled with stress, anxiety and despair about how they spend the majority of their working and waking hours. As many as 80% of the world lives this way (although I’d like to think our Revolution here is beginning to push that number down).


Most people work long, hard hours at jobs they hate that enable them to buy things they don't need to impress people they don't like. 

It can be really tough to work a job you’ve gotten sick of. The grind of knowing you’re spending most of your time each week doing something you don’t care about can be hard to bear.

It’s not just a feeling, either. A survey from the Household, Income and Labor Dynamics in Australia actually found that working in a job you hate is worse for your psychological well-being than being unemployed.
Think about that for a second: Working in a job you hate can make you more miserable than having no job at all.

John Haltiwanger, Senior Politics Writer at Elite Daily, says this is because when you’re unemployed you can at least hold onto the hope of finding a great job:

Unemployment is stressful, but it still leaves room for possibilities. When you’re unemployed, you focus all of your efforts on finding a fulfilling position. Yet, when you’re working a dead-end job, you’re so depleted at the end of the day it’s difficult to begin thinking about the future.

I’m not advocating you quit your job if you’re unhappy, but if a bad job can make this big of an impact on your wellbeing, it may be worth trying to improve the one you have.

Nigel Marsh, author of Fat, Forty, and Fired, says trying to make sweeping changes at work is actually a bad idea. He compares making huge changes at work to jumping on a crash diet—inevitably, it will end in failure.
Marsh’s advice is to focus on small, strategic changes to improve your work life.
Let’s take a look at three strategic changes you can make to improve your current job, backed by research and experience.

Do more of what you like to do

Though you probably have a job description stating what your responsibilities are, finding ways to incorporate more of the work you enjoy most can improve how you feel about your job overall.
Adam Dachis from Lifehacker was able to make his customer support job at a previous company more enjoyable by incorporating one of his hobbies: making videos and short films.

Dachis built himself a DIY green screen one weekend and made a customer support video for his company. His effort paid off:

[After a few days] marketing asked me if I’d like to create videos regularly for our customers and I made a new episode once a month. For the holidays, we even did a musical.

This isn’t the first time Dachis has improved his work by incorporating a hobby, either:

Many years ago I had a job addressing envelopes and I would draw pictures on them as well. Eventually people started calling in because they liked the drawings and I was asked to try my hand at some design work.

Dachis suggests finding ways to integrate things you love doing with your existing work. “Don’t leave your creativity and passion at home just because your job doesn’t call for it,” he says.

Even if you don’t have a hobby that seems applicable to your work, you could ask to spend more time on the aspects of your role you like most, or offer to help out in another department you’re interested in.

Improve (or remove) your commute

You could be spending all day doing work you love, or bringing your hobbies to the office, but a long commute would still be a drag. In fact, we tend to put commuting at the absolute bottom of the list of things that make us happy.
Research has shown that despite most people thinking a pay raise or a bigger house can make up for the despair bestowed upon us by a long commute, the commute will still get us down. In fact, to compensate for a long commute, you’d need to get a full 40% raise in salary.

In light of that research—and this might seem counterintuitive—Hillary Rettig, productivity coach and author of The 7 Secrets of the Prolific, suggests extending the length of your commute. “When people are commuting,” Rettig says, “they’re most likely rushing.”

Rushing degrades our happiness. Most of us probably don’t realize the stress it causes us physically and emotionally.

Rettig suggests allowing more time for your commute so you don’t have to rush so much. When you’re not rushing, she says, “you have more of a sense of control and self-management.”

Rettig also suggests planning as much as possible the night before, and avoiding distractions like morning TV, email, and social media when you should be getting ready to leave the house.
Rettig’s final suggestion for improving your commute is to change how you spend that time:

The key is to do what you want to do, not what you think you should do. We often choose the thing that seems more productive because it feels like the right thing to do. But using your commute to read a fun novel or listen to music is productive because it’s taking away the negative aspect of the commute. It becomes like a little holiday that will help fuel your productivity for the rest of the day.

According to Rettig, some people actually enjoy their commute! She says these people find their daily commute peaceful, and enjoy the chance to spend time alone doing something they enjoy.
You can also try switching up your commute to a physical activity, such as walking or cycling. Research has shown people who actively commute rather than driving or taking public transport tend to weigh less and have a lower BMI.

Personally, I like the idea of doing something fun like listening to a podcast or reading a book during my commute, but if cycling or walking makes you happy, go for the active commute to kickstart your day.

Find meaning in your work

A commute is a lot less stressful when it’s a way to get to something you enjoy. One of the best ways to enjoy your work more is to derive personal meaning from it.

Unfortunately, one survey of 12,000 employees in various fields found that a full 50% of those people were lacking a feeling of meaning and significance at work.

According to the same survey, employees who find meaning in their work are more than three times as likely to stay in their current organization. Whether or not an employee found meaning in their work turned out to have the highest impact on fulfillment at work of any variable in the study.
Not only were those employees more likely to stay in their current jobs, but they also reported 1.7 times higher satisfaction with their jobs, and were 1.4 times more engaged at work than other employees.

Meaning is one of those hard-to-put-your-finger-on ideas. But a Stanford research project can help us understand what it means and how to get it. According to this project, happiness and meaning are quite different: while we derive happiness from taking—that is, focusing on what we get from others—we derive meaning from giving—how we’re helping others.

So how can you increase the meaning you find in your job? One way is to focus on the why behind what you do, rather than the job itself. For instance, in one study of hospital janitors, the janitors saw themselves as part of a team of people who helped to heal the sick. Rather than focusing on the act of cleaning, they focused on the why behind their jobs—they felt they were helping others, which is key to finding meaning in your work.

Another option is to focus more on personal relationships at work. Gallup research has found the most engaged workers report having a best friend at work. Other research has found having several hours of social time can improve our day overall.

If you have a friend at work who you can help, it can increase your own feeling of how meaningful your job is. You don’t even have to help them with work-specific tasks. You might help them by going out for a coffee, being a lunchtime workout partner, or offering a friendly ear when they need someone to talk to.

Most importantly, look for ways to help others at work. Think about the why behind your job: who are you helping with the work you do, and how? Try helping others in the office by lending a hand when you have free time. The more you give, the more you’ll feel like you’re spending your time in a meaningful way, and that will make coming to work much easier.

That’s due to the fact dreams can actually help you to learn, a lot of the time if you have a dream involving a relevant person or situation to your life. This is your brain’s way of telling you to resolve that issue, so often it is a good idea to listen to what your dream is trying to tell you.



Dreams seem to help us process emotions by encoding and constructing memories of them. What we see and experience in our dreams might not necessarily be real, but the emotions attached to these experiences certainly are. Our dream stories essentially try to strip the emotion out of a certain experience by creating a memory of it. This way, the emotion itself is no longer active.  
This mechanism fulfils an important role because when we don’t process our emotions, especially negative ones, this increases personal worry and anxiety. In fact, severe REM sleep-deprivation is increasingly correlated to the development of mental disorders. In short, dreams help regulate traffic on that fragile bridge which connects our experiences with our emotions and memories.

Do men dream more than women?

Men and women dream differently. Women tend to recall their dreams more often than men and women tend to report more frequent and more intense nightmares than men. Men dream more often about other men rather than women, whereas women dream equally often about men and women.

Overall, the science behind dreams is still not fully understood. But we do understand that listening to what your dreams are telling you is important. It can help you in your everyday life as dreams are your brain’s way of subconsciously telling you to do something.
