Already, many Americans are overstretched and therefore act conservatively in their money supply. For instance, around 40 per cent of their assets are invested in cash or money deposits, but only 13 percent are invested in assets that are significantly more render and risk-proof. Write ten areas that you are happy with. When you feel bored or dissatisfied, look at the list and thank for one or more of those aspects of your life.

The next step is to think about the different ways in which you can make those aspects of your life better. Try to think about things that cost little or cost nothing or much better on things that generate money.

For example, if you are happy with your home, you may want to improve it by organizing everything in your home. If you happen to find many things you have bought and never used, why not host a garage sale or sell everything on eBay? Instead of wasting time shopping, you will use your time wisely and earn money instead of being spending it unnecessarily.

Another way you can appreciate what you have without spending a lot of money is to develop your skills to improve certain aspects of your life. So, whenever you feel discontent without meaning, avoid shopping. Focus on the good things in your life and think of ways you could improve them without spending money. If you think that you may have the talent, a career as a copywriter may be a good option for you. There are plenty of opportunities available, whether you work as a freelance writer or are employed steadily by one service or firm. One thing to keep in mind, however, is that there is more to being a copywriter than just being a good writer. Learning to be a good copywriter does take some practice and experience, but you can make a steady career doing something you enjoy.

Naturally, if you want to be a successful writer then you have to be good with your words, but there is more to it than that with copywriting. A good place to start for many people is to learn the styles of other successful copywriters. Read through some of the articles and advertisements that you find and see how effective they can be. Check out the style and approach these writers take to their readers. Are they keeping you interested in what you are reading? What type of approach do they use to grab the reader? Is it a light, fun article with humor or is it straightforward and informational, giving you everything you need to understand the topic better? Both can be very effective styles depending on the topics and the way the writer addresses the audience.

Check the wording that they use as well. You want to try to use words and a conversational style that is directed at the expected audience of the piece. If you are writing for highly technical readers, then you would expect to use certain terminology that only they may have a firm grasp of. On the other hand, if you are writing a marketing piece for the general consumer, you want to try and use a conversational tone that will appeal to the average reader. Using a lot of technical jargon with them may make them feel like the article or ad is over their head and they will not pay attention to it, which is exactly what you do not want.

When you are writing about a particular subject, it is important to know who your audience is going to be so you can cater the article to their particular needs. If you are writing about a particular product, you need to know exactly who the audience is going to be for your writing so you can tailor the article to them. Are they more concerned with details on the features of the product or are they more focused on what the cost will be? These things can affect the approach you take in your writing style, so it is good to have as much information as you can get regarding the project before you start writing anything.

When you are first starting out as a copywriter, join some forums or bulletin boards that other writers participate in. There is nothing wrong with picking the brains of a few experts along the way to help you learn your craft better. You can ask questions of them directly to see what their style is like or how they approach particular projects. The more you can learn from people who have extensive experience the more it will help your own writing in the long run.

If you want to become better at copywriting, then you are going to need to do a lot of reading. A great deal of copywriting involves research and reading about the products and information you will be writing about. You need to spend some quality time going over the things you are going to be writing about. Your articles and ads are supposed to be coming from a well-informed source and you want to seem like you are an expert on the subject at hand. This means you should do as much as reading as you can on whatever your topic is going to be so you can write about it with a strong basis behind you. The more expert you seem in your writing, the more people are going to follow along with what you write about. This will help to make your writing more successful for you and for your client, which in turn can lead to more work for you.

Learning to be a good copywriter does not mean you have to have an extensive education or a great deal of training. What it does take is practice and effort on your part. The more writing you do, the more you will learn about what styles work best for what types of projects. Once you start to get a few jobs, you will find that it becomes easier for you to figure out exactly what tone and approach to take for certain jobs and clients. This will lead you on the path to more work and becoming a much more successful copywriter.

A great advice I’ve heard while attending a video broadcast by one of my new friends Alejandro Reyes about three weeks ago. While I’m loosely interpreting the words (yeah, I failed to write them down ) meaning still remain the same – if the activity doesn’t generate you income, don’t do it!

Because that is what I hope you treat your blog as. If you are trying to make money with your blog, and it doesn’t mean it has to cover “make money blogging” topic, it should be treated as business! But what perhaps is even more important is the ultimate goal that prompted you to start.
This one can be quite different for each and everyone of us and range from making extra hundred bucks a month to help with family expenses or just get some extra cash to become fully financially independent and provide for your family. But whatever it is, you have to define…

If you can’t answer in EXACT steps what you have to do right now to achieve your personal goal – your blog is Not A Business but a hobby. And just as many hobbies it will cost you more than it will generate income. Plain and simple. And there is no magic button you can push that will do it for you!

• You have blog that answers someone’s needs and provides solutions
• You have blog filled with unique a quality content
• You have blog that is setup for monetization without annoying you visitors
• Your blog is failing to deliver on expectations…

As you can see this post is not to teach you how to write for your blog or how to properly monetize but rather “other steps” you need to take to get closer to that ultimate goal. Steps To Blogging Success

• Don’t Do Anything That Doesn’t Make You Money. Yep, I’m back to the headline because it is extremely important to eliminate from your daily activities everything that fails to bring you closer to your goal. Prioritize your actions for the day and once you have finished all the tasks that generate you income – feel free to engage in other activities.

• Create Optimized Content. While all other steps are extremely important, Content Is The King. Your blog will be alive and prospering only as long as you produce quality content your visitors expect to see. But there is a bit more to it. I have stated – OPTIMIZED for a reason. You have to write your posts or pages to address 2 different types of visitors equally – human readers and Search Engine bots. Be sure to remember what keywords your post need to be optimized for and before you hit that Publish button, sprinkle them into your content.

• Build a list. I know many bloggers hate the thought of doing this but is a MUST if you are planning to achieve your goals. You list doesn’t have to be anything more elaborate that a Digest of Your blog posts on weekly bases like I do on this blog and occasional “relevant” offer. In fact blog and mailing list work quite nicely and help feed one another – blog provides quality content for the list and a subscription option and mailing list provides people with convenience to get the content they liked on your blog delivered directly to their mailbox plus other information related to the topic. It is a win-win situation and failure to build list is one that too many bloggers make. I use and recommend aweber due to the exceptional options they provide and integrated blog broadcast to simplify eZine delivery for you.

• Drive traffic to your blog. This step if extremely important once you have other options stated above covered. Your quality content needs readers and while doing SEO on your posts will help you get visitors from Search Engines on keywords you have optimized (if you do it right) – in my experience it only covers about 45-50% of the total visitors. Don’t forget the importance Social Marketing plays to get you traffic. And I’m not talking about spamming social networks and web 2.0 sites but rather sharing your relevant content with people who are searching for it using those sites and networks. An important distinction.

• Create a product! This second to last step in your blogging for money evolution and one that 99.9% of the bloggers never take. Don’t look at this step as a step away from your blog but rather as an extension of it. You are the expert in your niche, you know your topic inside out, otherwise why would you write about it, right? So it is only natural you create an Info Product (an ebook, report, audio training, video recording, screencast recording, options are many and not limited to anything!) and offer it to your visitors. Important step here is curve out your own, even if very small, sub-niche that NEED a solution to the problem and PROVIDE that solution! Creating a product is not about making another one “me too learning to make money blogging” eBook but rather answer the need of your readers and customers! I will cover more on the topic in other posts.

• Create a symbiotic relationship. And by this I simply mean one thing.. or rather a few things: use blog to establish your authority, build a list and sell your product; use list to drive traffic back to your blog and sell the product; use product to drive traffic back to your blog, build list and sell itself. All the steps are intervened and should be used as a complex and not separate activity. They make perfect sense when used properly and only help each other.

List above is only a suggestion I make and one I follow for myself quite successfully and you will have to determine for yourself what works and what not. But whatever you do for your online business – always remember:

A lot of people are now getting into online businesses and online marketing either to supplement their “real world” income or for it to become their primary source of income. Why? Because online marketing just provides them a lot of benefits!

First, you can reach just about anybody in the world who has Internet access if you market your products online. That means a wider market for you, which can translate to larger profits. Second, setting up an online business requires only a fraction of the cost required to set up an actual business establishment, which means a lot of savings for the business owner.

Another aspect that has attracted a lot of people towards online marketing is the fact that one doesn’t have to have his own products to get started. In online marketing, one can start making a lot of money just by selling, or even by just trying to sell, other people’s products. And getting started with this kind of marketing strategy is actually quite easy. All that one needs to do is to set up an agreement with an online retailer or merchant, and after everything is settled, one can immediately start making money by selling the merchant’s or the retailer’s products.


Incidentally, the most popular and the fastest growing method of selling other people’s products online is affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing, in its simplest definition, is a relationship between an online merchant or retailer, who has products to sell, and his affiliates, who are willing to promote the merchant’s product on their website.

In a typical affiliate marketing set up, the merchant provides his affiliates with banners and text ads that link to his site. The affiliates will then get these ads posted on their website and they get paid whenever traffic or sales is directed to the merchant’s website. Affiliates are often paid on commission basis, although other online merchants would opt to pay a fixed fee for the affiliate’s compensation.

Starting to make money online with affiliate marketing is relatively quick and easy. All that one has to do is to sign up as an affiliate for an online company that offers affiliate programs. An alternative method, and usually an easier one, is to sign up as a member of an affiliate network—a network that hosts a variety of affiliate programs for different online merchants or retailers. Signing up is usually free, although other companies and networks may require you to pay a particular fee. Such fees, however, are made as payment for additional services that the company may render, like providing you with tools and assistance to jump start your online business.

When you sign up with an affiliate marketing program, you are usually required to fill out a form containing information about yourself. Some affiliate programs may also require you to present the URL of your website and describe its contents. This will allow the retailers to verify that you actually have a website with contents that are relevant to their products. Some affiliate programs, however, won’t require you to have a website. After filling out the form and all, you are then allowed to choose the affiliate programs you want to promote.
After signing up with an affiliate program and being an actual affiliate, you are now ready to start making a lot of money by selling other people’s product online. How do you make money? There are actually a number of ways for you to earn money as an affiliate, and most of these ways depends on the type of affiliate marketing program you’ve gotten into.

Many affiliate marketing programs compensate their affiliates in either of three ways: pay-per-click (PPC), pay-per-sale (PPS), or pay-per-lead (PPL). In pay-per-click affiliate marketing, the affiliate is paid whenever he directs traffic to the merchant’s site. PPS and PPL affiliate marketing programs work rather differently. In PPS, the affiliate only gets paid when his referral converts into an actual sale. In typical PPS affiliate programs, the affiliate would usually get 15% to 20% commission for each conversion. PPL affiliate programs work the same way, although affiliates are paid a fixed fee whenever his referral converts into a lead for the company.

Some affiliate marketing programs are two-tier programs, wherein the affiliate is also allowed to recommend other affiliates to the merchant. In such affiliate programs, the affiliate would not only be paid for the traffic or sales that he would direct to the merchant’s site but also for the traffic or sales directed by the affiliates who signed up with the program through his recommendation.

Yet another way of earning more profits with affiliate marketing is through residual affiliate programs. Residual affiliate programs are affiliate programs where the affiliate gets paid a number of times for as long as the merchant keeps the customer the affiliate has referred to his site. One form of residual program gets the affiliate paid a commission every time the referred customer purchases something on the merchant’s site. Another form of residual affiliate program gets the affiliate paid a percentage every month for as long as the company keeps the referred customer.

With a lot of options available and a lot of ways to earn money, affiliate marketing is undoubtedly the most popular and the easiest way to make money by selling other people’s products online. As to how much money one can get from affiliate marketing actually depends on the affiliate. A dedicated and hardworking affiliate would certainly get more from the program compared to those affiliates who would simply sign up and forget about the program later.

So decide which type of affiliate you are going to be, go out there and find the programs that work for you. Then take the steps needed to be successful.
