If you want you can enjoy stress free holidays by managing your busy schedule. Our guest author Julie Morries from Juliemorris.org, given us few great tips on "how to have a stress free holiday even if you are busy person".
It can be hard to enjoy the holidays and battle the stress that comes with them, especially if you are a busy professional with many responsibilities. This time of year can be overwhelming for many people, so it’s imperative to know how to handle the anxiety, stress, and depression that can accompany the holiday season and find ways to keep them from invading your life.
Here are some of the best tips on how to do just that.
Make the most of your time
Take a good look at all the time in your day. Sit down with a planner and mark down everything you need to get done, setting aside blocks of time to do it all in, and evaluate how you could be using that time to the fullest. If you carpool to work or have a long commute, you might start answering emails or getting reading done during that time, which would otherwise be wasted. Use part of your lunch break to go for a brisk walk and get in some daily exercise while enjoying the fresh air. Making the most of your time will help you prioritize and check things off your to-do list even faster.
Make a budget
Well before the holidays arrive, sit down and make a budget, including what you want to spend on gifts, groceries, and any other personal expenses outside of bills. Seeing it there in black and white will help keep you from going over the amount you want to spend, and it will also save you anxiety when it’s time to juggle your bills and other finances. It might also be helpful to start shopping early for gifts. If you see something on sale in August and you just know someone in your family would love it, buy it and set it back. Just be sure to make a note of how much you spent and what you bought so you won’t double-buy or be caught off guard when the holiday actually arrives.

Remember that perfection is a myth
No one is perfect, no matter how things may seem from the outside. Don’t set yourself up for disappointment by expecting to be the perfect hostess or host when it’s time for family to come visit, or when you’re planning a get-together or outing. Things will go wrong sometimes, and that’s okay. If it makes you feel better, make a contingency plan in case things don’t work out the way you want, but for the most part it’s better to just take things as they come and deal with them one at a time. Don’t let the fact that you can’t get your living room Pinterest-perfect keep you from enjoying the holiday.
Get creative
Take a little time--fifteen minutes per day, if you have to--to do something fun and relaxing. It can be a hot bath, a quick game of basketball, or writing in a journal, or you might pick up a new hobby and paint, sew, or cook. Making time for yourself to enjoy something non-holiday related can help ease tension and elevate your mood.
Reach out
Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you start to feel overwhelmed. Friends, coworkers, or family members can all pitch in when you need a hand with planning and organizing, but if you’re feeling low and are having symptoms of depression, consider talking with a counselor or support group.
The holidays can be a difficult time to get through, but with a little planning and creativity, you can find ways to enjoy them.
