Staying Healthy as an Entrepreneur:
From my personal experience, exercise, nutrition, sleep and mental health are all incredibly important for entrepreneurs. In
general, building a company is a marathon, not a sprint. This means you
need healthy habits to stay sharp and make good decisions day after
day. In addition, a healthy diet, rest, exercise and meditation give you
an edge when it comes to staying positive in the face of adversity.
This is crucial for you and your team.
I believe that diet and exercise are two
very overlooked aspect of an entrepreneur’s success. The food you eat
nourishes both your mind and body, so by choosing the best fuel for you
can optimize your productivity, well being, and happiness while working.
A while ago I noticed that I had my most productive and enjoyable days
were when I exercised in the morning and ate a nutritious breakfast
without coffee.
The good news is that you don't have to be
perfect and you don't need a ton of extra time to have a positive impact
on your routine
With that in mind here are a list of health “hacks” that I've used with good results:
Workouts - consistency is the key!
- 10 minute is MUCH better than doing nothing. Find any good workout what suitable to you. Practice it anywhere you are either in hotel or home.
- Try some morning workouts. This will boost your day work power and productivity.
Sleep
- Its better to have sleep in night. Make sure you are getting enough as you need depends on your body and weather condition. An average sum is 6 hour fresh sleep.
- Set your remainder to go to bed. Don't break it.
Mental health
- Treat yourself with kindness and respect, and avoid self-criticism. Learn how to deal with stress.
- Taking care of yourself physically can improve your mental health.
- Avoid dreaming what is illusion, be realistic and work on it
Nutrition - Have Healthy Foods
- Eat breakfast and don't eat junk make sure you get some protein.
- Avoid alcohol. I consider to give up this one forever.
- Eat less caffeine, I take a few a days.
- Try vegetable and protein everyday.
- Take help from this guide "How to eat healthy"
I started a morning ritual of waking up at 6am to a cayenne pepper, ginger, and lime shot (as a coffee alternative), working out for at least an hour, showering, drinking a smoothie, and being ready to work by 8am. Since starting this I have had greater stamina throughout the day, I feel better while working. I would recommend a morning exercise/diet routine to anyone along with a plant based diet.
To successfully implement healthy strategies requires balance and in
order to have balance, you need routine. Entrepreneurs often struggle
with creating and maintaining structure in their daily lives because
they often find themselves pulled in several different directions at
once. We all know that infants and young children thrive on routine and
structure, but we neglect to apply the same principle to ourselves. Try
to maintain routine with your sleep and wake times, meal times and
exercise. Exercise in the morning to prevent other factors throughout
the day from interfering with your commitment.
