Required configuration for Bing toolbar
- Windows 7 or later Windows Vista
- Internet Explorer 7 or later
- 100 MB free hard disk space
- If you are running Windows 8, go to the desktop to use the Bing Toolbar.
- After installation, the Bing Toolbar appears at the top of each Internet Explorer window when browsing the Web.

Search the web with Bing toolbar
The Bing Toolbar search box appears in the center of the Bing Toolbar and provides excellent search capabilities including search history, most frequent searches, and instant answers.- Launch Web searches on the Bing expands toolbar image
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Type the search term in the search box in the center of the Bing Toolbar.
- Press Enter or click the Search button Image of the Search button on the Bing toolbar.
Manage your search history image
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Click in the search box in the center of the Bing Toolbar.
- At the bottom of the search scrolling list, click Settings.
- To hide your search history from the Bing Toolbar drop-down list, remove the Show Search History check box.
- To remove your search history in the Bing Toolbar, click Clear Search History.
- To manage the history of your Bing searches, click Review and edit your Bing.com search history.
Choosing and Organizing Bing Toolbar Buttons
You can add and remove buttons in the Bing Toolbar and change the order in which they appear.- On the right side of the Bing Toolbar, click the Image Settings icon in the Bing Toolbar Settings icon.
- On the Applications tab, do one or more of the following:
- To add a button, choose it in the Other applications to add list, and then click Add.
- To remove a button, select it in the Applications that already exists list, and then click Delete.
- To move a button, select it from the Applications already existing file, then use the Up and Down arrows to change its position.
You can not delete the search box on the Bing Toolbar.
- If the button that you added to the Bing Toolbar does not appear, increase the width of the Internet Explorer browser window.
- If you do not see the features described here, you may not have the latest version of the Bing Toolbar. To install it, go to the Bing Toolbar Download Page.
How to install the Bing toolbar by using Windows Update
To install the Bing toolbar in Windows XP, follow these steps:- Click Start, click All Programs, and then click Windows Update.
- Wait for Windows Update to check for updates.
- Click Custom.
- Click Software, Optional on the left panel.
- Select Bing Toolbar in the right pane, and then click Check and Install Updates.
- Click Install Updates.
- After you install the update, restart Windows Internet Explorer.
To install the Bing bar in Windows Vista and Windows 7, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click All Programs, and then click Windows Update.
- Click Search for updates online from Microsoft Update.
- Click on the link Optional updates are available.
- The placeholder represents the number of optional updates that are available for download.
- Under the Bing category, select Bing Toolbar.
- Click OK, and then click Install Updates to start the download and installation process.
- To install the Bing bar on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, follow these steps:
- Scroll to the right edge of the screen, and then press Search.
Type Windows Update in the search box, tap or click Settings, and then click or click Install optional updates.
- Click Search for updates online from Microsoft Update.
- Click on the link number of optional updates are available. Note The placeholder represents the number of optional updates that are available for download.
- Under the Bing category, select Bing Toolbar.
- Click OK, and then click Install Updates to start the download and installation process.
How to uninstall the Bing Bar
To uninstall the Bing toolbar in Windows Vista and Windows 7, follow these steps:- Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
- Under Programs , click Uninstall a program .
- In the Uninstall or modify a program list, click Bing Toolbar, and then click Uninstall.
To uninstall the Bing Bar on Windows XP, follow these steps:
- Click Start and click Control Panel, and then double-click Add / Remove Programs.
- In the Currently installed programs list, click Bing Toolbar, and then click Remove.
- To uninstall the Bing Bar on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, follow these steps:
- Scroll to the right side of the screen and press Search.
- Type uninstall a program in the search box, tap or click Settings, and then tap or click Uninstall a program.
- In the Uninstall or modify a program list, tap or click Bing Bar, and then click or click Uninstall and follow instructions.
